A Diary Of An Introvert - DAY 2!

22nd May, 2017
10:00PM

Dear Diary,

As an introvert I’ve always felt that I’m drained by social encounters, and energised by solitary, or often creative pursuits. In fact, more often than not, my disposition is frequently wide of the mark as shyness, social phobia or even avoidance personality disorder, what they fail to understand is as an introvert, I ain’t incapable of socialising, but I’m simply selectively social as it’s not as easy for me to dip myself into the skin of a social butterfly, I cannot, because I prefer not to. Though, like a usual introvert, I ain’t as empathetic as a normal one, but I surely can be a good listener. I ain’t that interpersonally connected to anyone either, but that surely, doesn’t makes me a loner, or does it? Specifically to the people around me? What such people really need to understand is, there is a thin line between an introvert and a loner, that line may get blurry to the people around, but not to an introvert itself, since an introvert can choose to be social or not, but a loner isn’t capable enough of that act. A introvert tries hard enough to break the bounds of their shell, but the loner finds it own comfort in it, hence they prefer to stay cocooned in the loneliness invited by the darkness of their life.

An introvert has a very unique kind of a personality, they wake up every morning to fight the same demons in the daylight who left you completely tired the night before, and that is exactly what I call bravery, a loner isn’t capable of that. There is a beauty in being an introvert, because you certainly can’t be someone who can enjoy the silence of music, the deafness of words or the blindness of an art, only an introversion of a heart can make that possible for you, because only an introvert heart know how to escape their cages, through poetry, music, arts and the stars.

Though more often, the speciality of an introvert goes flying across the street, behind the charisma of an extrovert, and since we live in a society dominated by the extroverts, people as introverts tends to fade away in the background. Introversion, has never been seen as a trait, rather it’s considered more of curse I presume, by us as well as our society hence we tend to portray the social activeness of our existence, losing out on our real self as the time passes by.

An introvert needs to be alone at certain periods of time, or they may violate their own rhythm. They need to be alone in order to regain their sense of life and tranquility. For they know, a human’s vision becomes clear only when one looks into their own heart, for the one who looks outside, dreams; but the one who looks inside awakens.
The major factors of our personality includes the faces we carry around as a person, the ones which our personality keeps down the layers of reality and as I write to you everyday, I’ll pen down and unveil the face of an introvert for you can handle one accordingly.

Would love to hear from you!
See you tomorrow at 10PM.

Aisha!
