Your Own Magic - The Window's World

As Aditya sipped his evening tea, lying lifelessly with his helplessness, he continued to stare at the world outside. He didn’t know what his blank eyes sought for, but he knew there was a world outside he remembered nothing of, he knew, he has lived, loved and laughed, but didn’t know how, hence his world continued to rely on that one window.

Such was the moment, as he heard another girl consoling a friend on phone, “Listen, no matter how she might be, you need to move on Kashif. You need to concentrate on your own goals and achievements because in the end, you have to lead your own life, not hers, it doesn’t effect her.”

Aditya was amused listening to her. Move on, a thing easier said than done, because it’s not about just moving one step ahead from where you are standing, it’s about letting go of all the things you’ve cherished and lived so far. Every moment, every tiny gesture, every smile, everything, is what has held you back from taking this journey which will lead you to a new beginning, but he also thought how moving on is an emotion which fills in void which has built inside a hollow heart now. It tells you about how everything is yours and no one needs to validate your happiness with their existence.

Moving on, is the most difficult in the that almost kinda love. Being with someone who you think wants you to be there, and finding out they never really needed you, is like everything is ripped right underneath you. Almost- love filled with what-ifs and I-wishes, where you know things could’ve worked but moving on is important. Close some doors, not of hurt, arrogance or revenge, but because they simply no longer lead anywhere. Toss that hope away, because that’s exactly what pulls you back. Toss out that hurt, learn to love and value yourself far more than any other person who’ll ever meet.

Keep the wonderful memories, but as lanes part themselves, find yourself moving on with the path the other is not travelling on. Tuck away the temporary happiness you found in that person and find your happiness within you, because before you learn to let go, you need to learn to start over, because that’s how you move on, forever.

Sometimes closure arrives years later, but be your own happy ending and your own magic of your fairytale.
