A Sunshine Story - The Window's World

“Saying things are far more different than doing them Ashmita, you know it, dad will never practice his preachings of equality.” The girl was breathing her own anger, infuriated, she punched at the wall.

Aditya was quite bewildered at the screaming which came around from the corner of the window, yet he continued to pay his undivided attention to the girl near the window.
“Listen, I hold no hope and expectations of impartiality anymore, it’s all a facade which will continue up till forever. Let’s not discuss this anymore.” The girl said and her voice trailed off leaving Aditya alone in with his own chain of thoughts again.

He wondered how not holding expectations can lead you to a life you might have never experienced before. It is the picture in our head which disappoints us most of the time. We always expect something more from others because that’s exactly what we will be ready to do for them, but then expectations roll on the sleeves of attachments. The more you get attached to someone, the more you’ll be able to develop the need for expectations from them, because you begin to feel that they understand you completely, but isn’t that the myth we subside ourselves in?

It’s like the cycle begins from the moment a baby cries. It didn’t wish to leave the comfort maybe, but he did, and is disappointed that his expectation of utter comfort was ruined. It continues to live a life complaining about every little thing which happens, and ultimately die with a burden of disappointments in the heart.

Don’t let what someone wants eclipse what you need, because that will forever hamper your belief of being whole. It’ll lead you to one heartbreak to another, because your sunshine will be shadowed by the clouds of your own expectations, and that’s where the light of satisfaction will fade away.

Someone can be your Sun, but be your own sunshine.
