Valentine's Week! Promise Day! #Post5 ❤
"I promise I'll be back. Fighting all odds, fighting for our country." The soldier told his wife and his new born child. "I hope you'll stay safe. I just hope that you fulfill this promise of yours like always." His wife cried, tears of joy and dejection filled the ocean of her eyes.
He bid his farewell giving away the hope of his return.
She bid him farewell hoping that he'll come back really soon.
She clinched onto his promise. Waiting for him everyday, every minute of her life.
She knew he'll come back, he always fulfilled every word of honour. So she continued, waiting.
Days, weeks and months passed by while she still waited for him at the door. Leaving behind a new born, who was now a 7month old.
It was a routine for her each day. Completing all the chores, and putting the baby to sleep, she sat near the windowsill, waiting for him to smile at her once again.
In the mid of the 9th month, he was back home. Wrapped up in the flag and pinned up with all his badges. The row of soldiers walked in the corridor of her outside her home.
She knew what she dreaded was on her door.
Wrapped up in the flag, her love lied still. "At least, you fulfilled your words and came back home. Wrapped up to the country, you fulfilled the country's soul. I love you for the beautiful promises you made, to me and to our country." She said and broke down while another martyr smiled to the clouds of our country. 😊
