Valentine's Week! Hug Day! #Post6 ❤

"She first held me, close to her heart. My fingers could feel how composed she was, asleep in my arms. She held a curve at the corner of her lips, smiling at the dream she held in her mind. When suddenly it disappeared behind a frown, and then it changed into fear. It was as if someone haunted her in her dream. I tried to move closer but she automatically made me know that I was needed.
I felt wanted after a long time. It was as if only I could give rest to all her nightmares. It was as if she wanted me to stay by her side, forever.
She hugged my fingers with her tiny ones. They didn't have a grip, but their touch could make me realise that she was scared. She slept peacefully for the rest of the night, while I stayed there, letting her hold my finger, without moving an inch. Since then, she hugged me when in despair, she hugged me when in love, she hugged me even when she broke up.
I felt complete, that feeling made me live a thousand lives in every hug she gave.

And now, as 24 years have gone by, and I'm still there and as she walks away. I'll hold her close to my heart while she bid her farewell to her past.
It's a new life now, a new path and a new endeavour for her.

What I wonder is, who'll give rest to her nightmares now?
Who'll possibly hug her when she'll be in need?
Who'll tell her that it'll be alright?

"That a mother's hug is all it takes to keep a child asleep."

Who'll tell her that at the end, when a mother holds her child, a little hug is all it takes for her to feel the lingering pain, the tears of joy, the mysterious lies and a fear of her nightmare."
